More Info

In the year where women’s rights are at the forefront, Luedj is an actual and most uprising artist of the country („Banho da Folhas“ reached 2 Mio. clicks on youtube)

Luedj, born in a Quilombo (Palenque) is a poet and furthermore a symbol and voice for millions of afro-brazilians and especially women. In a country with a systematic policy of whitening, she brings very important messages of our time across in an unique way.

The album produced by Sebastian Notini is an inspiring mix from MPB, Jazz, rhythms from Congo, "Samba de Roda", percussions from candomblé with philosophic lyrics about existentialism, belonging, immigration, feminine empowerment and afro-brazilian identity.

Her sweet and strong voice and her live performance with her 8-piece band (musicians from Brazil, Kenia and Cuba) have deepness, sensuality and spirituality. Her evident hypnotic force on stage grows slowly until the last one in the audience is filled with energy.

Line-up: 8 pax on stage
Vocal, 2 percussion, 2 horn, bass &, 1 guitar & 1 acoustic guitar
