Official Showcase Orlando Julius Womex 2017
We are very proud to announce Orlando Julius (Nigeria/ Strut Records) to showcase at Womex 2017 in Kattowice. Orlando entered the selection out of more than 1000 artist proposals and will perform an Official Showcase on Saturday 28.10.17 on at Spodek 28.10.17 at Twin Stage B at 0:45 h.
Veteran Nigerian saxophonist and pioneer of Afro soul and Afrobeat, Orlando Julius, showcases at Womex in Katowice this autumn. Expect to hear tracks from his acclaimed new studio album with The Heliocentrics, Jaiyede Afro, alongside a host of classics from his incredible 50-year career including “Alo Mi Alo,” “James Brown Ride On,” “Jagua Nana” and “Ijo Soul,” the track which allegedly influenced James Brown’s “I Got You (I Feel Good).”
