Florence Adooni

Florence Adooni is part of the extremely vital Frafra Gospel scene in Ghana. But her voice is a big exception: Born and raised in the Ashanti capital of Kumasi, the epicenter of high-life music, her style differs from the original Frafra Gospel as played in northern Ghana. Surrounding herself with the city's best young high-life musicians, she now uniquely combines the soul of the northern savannah and the sound of the rainforest region, fusing the best of both cultures into one unique event.

With Adooni, this gripping expression is mixed with another of Ghanas strongest and proudest musical traditions: a melodic and rhythmic pulsating highlife, where local Ghanian traditions combine with inspiration from pop, rock and jazz, including lots of festive horns. After all, she was raised in the town of Kumasi, which is known as being the epicentre of the highlife genre.
Her debut single "Mam Pe'ela Su'ure" on Philophon Records has generated great acclaim both in Ghana and around the world. Her music has soul, charm and is bursting with
