Liniker

More Info

Born in Araraquara, in the State of São Paulo, singer and songwriter Liniker has been
involved with art since childhood. She grew up watching her mother and uncles
participate in samba rock circles, an experience that planted a seed that would later
blossom into her own artistic journey. Liniker studied at the Escola Livre de Teatro in
Santo André, a place that helped unlock many of her creative layers.

Liniker gained widespread recognition when she released the EP Cru (2015) online, under
the name Liniker e os Caramelows. Since then, she has toured across Brazil and
internationally, releasing the albums Remonta (2016) and Goela Abaixo (2019), which was
nominated for a Latin Grammy in the “Best Rock or Alternative Music Album in Portuguese”
category. She also starred as the protagonist Cassandra in the Amazon Prime series Manhãs
de Setembro (2021), a role that earned her the distinction of being named a "Game Changer"
by Glamour magazine in the actress category of the Geração Glamour awards.

In the same year, Liniker released her first solo album, Indigo Borboleta Anil, which features
collaborations with iconic artists such as Milton Nascimento, among others. The album
earned three Latin Grammy nominations in 2022 and won the award for “Best Brazilian
Popular Music Album,” making Liniker the Brazilian artist with the most nominations that
year and the first transgender artist to win a Latin Grammy. Liniker is also one of the few
Brazilian artists to have performed at Colors Studio and NPR's Tiny Desk.

With the tour for Indigo Borboleta Anil, Liniker traveled across Brazil and performed at major
national festivals, including an unforgettable appearance at Rock in Rio 2022 on the Sunset
Stage, as well as her participation in the first edition of the Primavera Sound festival in São
Paulo. In 2023, Liniker expanded her horizons, debuting her solo career in countries such as
Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, and Germany, successfully
concluding the Indigo Borboleta Anil tour. That same year, she was inducted as an Immortal
by the Brazilian Academy of Culture (ABC), taking the seat previously held by Elza Soares.
Liniker is also one of the few Brazilian artists to have performed at the legendary Glastonbury
Festival.

Liniker's latest project, CAJU, was co-produced with Fejuca and Gustavo Ruiz, the same trio
behind Indigo Borboleta Anil. CAJU blends deeply personal stories with a surprising mix of
styles, ranging from pop, samba, jazz, and house to pagode, arrocha, disco, and reggae. The
album features special guest appearances by Lulu Santos, BaianaSystem, ANAVITÓRIA,
Pabllo Vittar, Priscila Senna, and more.
The impact of CAJU has been undeniable. Just ten days after its release, Liniker's second
solo album became one of the biggest successes of her career, amassing over 100 million
streams across all platforms (6 million of those in the first 24 hours!) and ranking sixth among
the top ten most-played albums on Spotify's global chart. Thirteen of the 14 songs from the
album entered the Top 100 list on Apple Music Brazil, and both the album and its title track
reached No. 1 on iTunes Brazil within just three days of release. The 15-date tour is already
sold out in all cities, drawing more than 100,000 people. Liniker is today one of the most
important and influential artists of the Brazilian pop scene.
